Zambia: natural parks, Victoria Falls and roses Zambia is in Southern Africa and is well-known for its many natural parks and the Victoria Falls. However, just like its neighbour, Tanzania, many roses are grown here mainly in the area around the capital, Lusaka. Warm climate The climate in Zambia is mainly tropical with an area in the south west which has a steppe (semi-arid) climate. The economy has shown an upward rise in the last decade so much so that the World Bank named Zambia as one of the world’s fastest recovering economies in 2010. Primarily smaller head sizes There are a small number of active rose growers in Zambia mainly specialised in smaller head sizes. Roses are flown to the Netherlands from Zambia four times a week.
